Nancy
Roberts Trott named AP's regional news director for Western
states
NEW YORK -- Nancy Roberts Trott, chief of bureau for The Associated
Press for Washington state and Idaho, has been named regional
news director for Western AP bureaus.
Trott's appointment was announced April 24 by Sarah Nordgren,
director of state news. Trott succeeds David Wilkison, who
was named to the new position of AP mid-Atlantic bureau chief.
Trott will remain in the Seattle bureau, where she has been
a bureau chief since 2003.
Trott joined the AP in Concord, N.H., in 1991, and worked
in AP bureaus in Providence, R.I., and Albany, N.Y., before
returning to Concord in 1993 as a supervising editor.
She left Concord three years later to move to the Pacific
Northwest, where she worked briefly for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer
before moving to ABC News' online operation in 1997 and then
rejoining the AP in 1999 as news editor in the Seattle bureau.
In 2002, Trott moved to Washington, D.C., where she served
as AP's regional news editor for a year.
Trott was born in New Britain, Conn., and graduated from the
University of New Hampshire.
