Chris Clark named news editor for Kansas and Missouri


KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chris Clark, news editor for The Associated Press in Salt Lake City since 2002, has been appointed the AP's news editor for Kansas and Missouri.

The appointment was announced May 6 by Kansas and Missouri Chief of Bureau Randy Picht.


Clark worked for The (Independence, Mo.) Examiner, The News-Press of Fort Myers, Fla., and The Springfield (Mo.) News-Leader before joining AP in Kansas City in 1996. He was day supervisor in Kansas City and moved to Salt Lake City in 2002 to oversee the Utah and Idaho state reports.


He is a native of Kansas City, and a 1991 mass communications graduate of Missouri Southern State College in Joplin.


Clark succeeds Jim Clarke, who has been named chief of bureau for Montana and Wyoming.
