Ian
Cameron appointed vice president of AP Images
NEW YORK -- The Associated Press has
appointed Ian Cameron to the new position of vice president
of AP Images, responsible for global commercial photo sales
for the world's oldest and largest news organization.
Cameron comes to the AP most recently from Getty Images where
he was director of editorial sales for North America, based
in New York.
"Ian brings to the AP a wealth of hands-on experience
in commercial photo sales," said Tom Brettingen, senior
vice president of Global Newspaper Markets, who announced
the appointment Monday. "We are confident that, with
that background, he will help take AP Images to another level."
Prior to his nearly two years with Getty Images, Cameron worked
as a vice president of sales for data solutions at TV Guide.
Before that he spent more than two years with Reuters, first
as Canadian sales director and then as media sales director
for the Americas. He was Canadian sales manager for Dow Jones
for nearly four years before going to Reuters. A retired lieutenant
colonel in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserves, he has a bachelor
of arts degree in history from Concordia University/Loyola
campus.
AP Images is the world's largest bank of historical and news
photos, providing instant access to AP's iconic images. It
adds new images every minute of every day from every corner
of the world, making it an essential source of photos and
graphics for professional image buyers and commercial customers.
