Scott McFetridge named news editor for the AP in Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Scott McFetridge, an editorial team leader at the St. Paul Pioneer Press, has been named news editor for Iowa for The Associated Press, based in Des Moines.

The appointment was announced June 19 by Carol Riha, Iowa chief of bureau.

McFetridge has been at the Pioneer Press since 2002. He moved to Minnesota from Oregon, where he was assistant city editor and supervised a team of government and education reporters at The Register-Guard in Eugene.

Before that, he was assistant city editor at the Statesman Journal in Salem, Ore.

McFetridge is a Salem native and a graduate of the University of Oregon.

He succeeds Riha, who was named chief of bureau in February.
