Sue Lindsey named AP correspondent in Roanoke, Va.

RICHMOND, Va. -- Sue Lindsey, interim correspondent for The Associated Press in Norfolk, has been appointed the AP's correspondent in Roanoke.

The promotion was announced Sept. 15 by Virginia Chief of Bureau Dorothy Abernathy.


Lindsey has worked in Norfolk since January while correspondent Sonja Barisic is on sabbatical.


Lindsey worked for the AP in Richmond from 1972-80, then was an editor and columnist for The Roanoke Times for 19 years before rejoining the AP in Richmond in 2003 as night supervisor.

A native of Norristown, Pa., Lindsey has a bachelor's degree in French from Mary Washington College and a master's degree in liberal studies from Hollins University.
