Skoloff named AP correspondent in West Palm Beach, Fla.
MIAMI -- Brian Skoloff, a newsman for The Associated Press,
has been named correspondent in West Palm Beach.
The appointment was announced Dec. 12 by Florida Chief of
Bureau Jim Baltzelle.
Skoloff will be responsible for coverage of West Palm Beach
and the surrounding region. He succeeds Jill Barton, who has
left the company.
Skoloff joined the AP in November 2000, covering Arkansas
state politics and general assignment news in Little Rock.
He was promoted to Fresno correspondent in 2003, and led the
AP's coverage of the Scott Peterson murder trial. Skoloff
has been day supervisor in San Francisco since April.
In 2002, Skoloff was awarded the John L. Dougherty Award,
given to AP reporters for excellence in the early stages of
their careers. He also received two Katie Awards from the
Press Club of Dallas for feature writing.
A native of Delaware, Skoloff grew up in Leesburg, Va., and
graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with
a B.A. in sociology and a minor in English.
